Japans Emperor Never Gives Up Hope

The emperor of Tokyo said a postive thing: "I truly hope the victims of the disaster never give up hope, take care of themselves, and live strong for tomorrow." I think it is sad but I dont think we should dread on it beacuse we dont know them.  more than 12,000 are missing or dead  and several hundred thousand have been left homeless from Friday's earthquake and tsunami thats just crazy. The number of dead is expected to go up as rescuers reach more hard-hit areas. Public broadcaster NHK has reported that 450,000 people were living in shelters. While agencies are working to raise money, donations have been slow to come.

Ladia Taft in February 2, 1712- November 9, 1778 was a forerunner of women's suffrage in colonial America. Ladia Was the first women to legally vote in colonial America. After she died her oldest son and husband left the family.

On June 2, 1848 in Rochester New york Gerrit Smith was nomittated as the Liberty Party's presidential canidate. At this conention, five votes were placed calling for Lucretia Mott to be Smitt's vice-president--the first time in the Untied States that a women was nominated for federal executive office.

Access to divoce depenped unpon in which American state a person lived, and upon the women's legal resources. Some states opposed divores on alomst all grounds. After her husband horsewhipped and beat her, one women took her pleafor divorce to the North Carolina Supreme COurt in 1862. The Chief Justice denied her, stating "The law gives the husband power to use such degree of force necessary to make the wife behave and know her place.

Their objet was to secure an amendment to the Constitution in favor of women's suffrage, and they opposed passage of the fifteenth Amendment ("The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude") unless it was change to guarantee to traditional female roles.

West Virginia State Penitentiary

I went to visit the West Virginia State Penitiary when I was like 12 years old. It was my Grandma, Grandpa, my friend Taniesha, and me. While we was there we herd many stories about the place. One that really stuck out to me is this old gut was sleeping and he was snoring and he did this for several days, and these to younger guys was polting on a way to kill him so they didnt have to here him snore any more. So finally they come up with how their going to do it they take there sheets and try suffocating him when it didnt work they took him and put his head under the bed leg and jupmed up and down on the bed till he was dead. Got cleaned up and went and told the officers he was dead. One of them died. The other is in sharp Hospital in Weston and is a role model to all those in their. Based on a true story!!
